February 2 is

Groundhog Day...
the "monsterous" blizzard of 2011-as the media is calling it since it has stretched from New Mexico and now is hitting New England...
Harley's birthday- he's 11...
a snow day with no school...even for Katie at college...and Dave and I are home...
and about 1/2 way through winter...

And here's Mr. Groundhog whom I can't imagine will see his shadow...unless the sun is out Pennsylvania and so that means 6 more weeks of winter...
Would have happened anyhow. Who came up with this Groundhog thing? Teasing us thinking spring is just around the corner...right now we are so SICK of snow and there's so much with supposedly heavy amounts falling all day here that it doesn't feel like it will ever be spring.
So onto HAPPIER things- like this card...
I KNOW I am way off on holiday timing but I am DREAMING of green grass and birds chirping and even April showers that bring May flowers...
So this card is first made by stamping in white that new Hero Arts cut out flower cling stamp I've used so much lately and then slightly darkening it with brown ink. A white background textured with a flower plate- boy, girl and saying stamp from the new Tweety Jill set I bought a couple of weeks ago, some of the 7Gypsies gaffer tape, green Hero Arts gemstones and some clovers punched out with a Martha Stewart punch and then some of them colored over with copic markers just to give a little contrast.
So in honor of wishes and hopes, I suggest you were green for spring today. If it can't be green otuside...maybe inside it can be.
